Unlike diamonds, cubic zirconia is not graded by the 4C's.
Because cubic zirconia (CZ) is produced artifically, it does not have the typical inclusions that real diamond has, hence CZ has no clarity grade to it.
Similarly, CZ is not graded by color like diamond is. However, for white CZ, grades of AAAA, AAAA, AA, A, and AB can be associated with it. CZ is no available in every color of the rainbow.
CZ cut
Cubic Zirconia is cut like diamond, but with one important difference. Cubic zirconia can be either machine-cut or hand-cut. Machine-cut cubic zirconia are usually hazy looking with poor facet arrangement and are poorly polished. Hand-cut CZ is much better looking. Some of the more popular companies that sell hand-cut cubic zirconia include Van Graff, Diamonelle, and Better Than Diamond.
CZ carat weight
When Cubic Zirconia (CZ) are described in carat weight, the diamond equivalent weight or the diameter of the stone in millimeters is being used. This is because the CZ stone is very dense, weighing 1.7 times more than a diamond of the same diameter.
Modern-day fake diamonds such as Cubic Zirconia are hard to tell from the real thing and can offer good value compared to high-priced diamond jewelry. Check out some of the links below if you may be interested in buying cubic zirconia jewelry ¬
