Created in the late 1800’s by Joseph Asscher, the old Asscher cut is the first square cut diamond developed and the inspiration for the emerald cut diamond.

Its unique proportions and angles, with large corners, small table, high crown and an open square culet, produced greater fire than seen in other emerald-cut diamonds at the time.

The old Asscher cut remains one of the most intriguing and sought after cuts in diamonds, very classic and understated.
