EightStar® diamonds are recut from previously cut diamonds to display ideal optical symmetry. There are about 2,000 EightStars created every year. The low number is attributed to the fact that it takes 30 hours to recut each diamond.

Eight Star diamonds cost about 20% more than diamonds cut to "ideal" proportions. But their stature is well-suited to customers who enjoy precision-cut, unique diamonds.

For a nominal fee, the EightStar Diamond Company also provides a FireScope. Viewed through this gemological instruments, EightStar diamonds display a distinctive eight-ray pattern due to their exacting optical alignment and light return.
