Kimberly Diamonds
Originally a 490-carat rough diamond, the champagne-colored Kimberly diamond was named after the Kimberly Mine in South Africa.
In 1921, the diamond was cut to 70 carats. In 1958, it was cut to its current current emerald shape at 55.09 carats.
The Kimberly diamond was widely exhibited until it was sold to an undisclosed collector from Texas in 1971.
