Tiffany Diamonds
The Tiffany diamond is the largest golden or yellow diamond. It was found in the De Beers mine in Kimberly in 1878 and weighed 287.42 carats.
The following year the diamond was bought by Charles Lewis Tiffany of Fifth Avenue and cut in Paris into a unique cushion-shaped brilliant diamond with 90 facets and weighing in at 128.51 carats.
The Tiffany diamond has 90 facets - 32 more facets than the standard brilliant cut diamond. These extra facets give the great yellow diamond the effect of smoldering fire.
You can see this fabulous diamond at Tiffany’s in New York City.
