Moissanite Education at Diamonds Gemstones Jewelry
Moissanite Education

All Moissanite stones are manufactured in the laboratory at Charles & Colvard. Moissanite is comprised of silicon carbide. During the manufacturing process, moissanite becomes doubly refractive, which is one of the ways of telling moissanite apart from real diamonds.

Moissanite clarity is not separated into grades like that for natural diamonds. Rather, moissanite clarity specifications are comparable to diamonds that have been graded VSI (Very Slightly Included). Moissanite has no natural inclusions - rather it has white, needle-like structures that cannot be seen without 10x magnification. Moissanite has no natural fractures that can crack if the stone is subjected to impact. The optical characteristics of moissanite are comparable or superior to diamond.

However, the cost of moissanite is higher than that of other simulated or fake diamonds. Check out some of the links below if you may be interested in buying moissanite jewelry ¬
